The Northern Housing Consortium (NHC) has over twenty years experience in facilitating the procurement of products and services that assist people with care needs to live independently, with dignity and the ability to manage their own conditions. We have aggregated demand in excess of £25 million per annum from our Members and they have benefited through economies of scale with more cost efficiencies and higher quality services. Assistive technologies can provide support through responsive services in people's homes that contribute to a preventative approach to care. They are a vital tool in enabling people to live with dignity, security and independence. |

The Technology Strategy Board is investing £18 million over the next four years to demonstrate how new technologies and innovative services can help support independent living for older people and people living with long-term conditions, and improve their quality of life.
The NHC has recently completed a procurement exercise to establish a four year assisted living Framework. The specification, which was carefully prepared with members, utilises the Consortium's experience to design accessible solutions for:
- Supply of assisted living technology - telecare and telehealth products
- Installation of assisted living systems
- Maintenance of assisted living systems
- Call centre monitoring for assisted living systems
